HANGING OUT IN 12 SOUTH NASHVILLE

HANGING OUT IN 12 SOUTH, NASHVILLE

My husband and I have been in Nashville for almost a week and we are loving it so far. If you are new to following me, a few weeks ago my husband and I decided that since we both work from home it would be fun to rent an Airbnb for a month, take some time away from Chicago winters, and explore a new city. We live in a highrise condo, so we also thought renting a house would be a different experience too.

Our Airbnb is in Melrose which is close to the 12 South neighborhood, which is probably our favorite neighborhood so far. (We have been to Nashville a few times before and loved 12 South last time too). Although, we have a few more neighborhoods left to explore so that might change over the next few weeks.

So far, we have hung out a the Frothy Monkey to work. The first day we went there is was 70 degrees! It was so nice to work outside in almost the middle of January. Not going to happen in Chicago! Down here they keep the patios out all year which is so nice. We also went back to work one evening and had a server, serve us dinner and drinks while we worked. Nothing like some prosecco on tap while you are working!

We have also had lunch and dinner at Bar Taco. It has a very Southern California, beachy vibe. The tacos are really yummy. I love the pork, cauliflower, and the tuna tacos. I have to get a side of the elotes corn and of course their amazing margaritas.

One of my favorite bbq places is also in 12 South, it’s called Edley’s BBQ. You just order at the counter and then find a seat, so it’s super chill. Their outdoor patio also has heat lamps so it’s toasty and warm all year long. I love to get the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, it’s pretty much my go-to for BBQ.

There’s also some really cute boutique over here, along with Draper James, which is Reese Witherspoon’s store. If you are a fan, you have to go! It’s such an adorable store (and where we took these photos).

During a rainy afternoon, we also stopped by Five Daughters Bakery to try their popular donuts. On my goodness, they are delicious! They called them the 100 layer donuts because they are made up of 100 thin layers of flaky amazingness. I love my Stan’s Donuts back at home, but these are probably up there as 2nd!

It’s also been great that we can bring our dog Bella with us to all the patios and we have been walking around the neighborhood to look at all the gorgeous houses with her. So she’s having fun too!

I love that I don’t have to get all bundled up down here! I can wear my favorite sweaters and coats without getting cold. As always I’m wearing some of my favorite bracelets from my site and I bring my tote bag with me everywhere. It looks great and it’s easy for me to use as a crossbody when I’m walking around.
